Labor Day Weekend/ College Football, and Fishing

We took a trip to Hattiesburg for the weekend. Sid and I were upstairs playing and took a "ride" on the total gym. She loved it!

This was opening weekend for college football. We all LOVE to watch football (maybe not all for the same team) but we love it just the same. Here is Sid ready for the Alabama game...

the LSU game came on before the Alabama game was over. I don't know how I scored getting to keep the nice big TV in the den while they all went to the bedroom, but I did. I felt sorry for them and was going to go offer to trade with them since I was the lone Bama fan. After I saw this I didn't feel very sorry anymore. Looks like I might have gotten jipped...

The kids love going to Grandma and Grandpa's house to fish. Conner actually caught this one all by himself from start to finish! He was SOOOOO proud of himself!

We left Sidney with my parents for the week and came back on Sunday. Monday we all enjoyed lots of fun activities. Ben and I did yard work and the kids played outside. They actually made pb&j for all of us for lunch, by themselves!!! Later we went swimming and for supper we went to Incredible Pizza. We had never been there before. It was a bit overwhelming (and LOUD), but we all had a blast!!!

1st day of preschool

Conner has been so excited to go to preschool...that is until the morning it was time to go. I knew when he got up saying "no school" that it was not going to be a smooth transition. He was trying to hide his smile the whole way there...

I did happen to catch one on the way in the door. and then..

He just would not go in. The teacher tried everything to make it as easy as possible but he did tear up before I left. Oh well, it will get better.

I actually got pig tails in her hair last week!!

This was her sneaking out to the tomato bush to pick tomatos while I was folding clothes in the laundry room. That little stinker. Red or green, didn't matter to her.
I also caught her on attempting the 2nd step on the ladder of Conner's bunk beds today. I stood behind her just in case she were to fall, just to see if she could make it all the way. She did!!! Without assistance. oh man! The ladder will be out of reach when we are not around from now on. Little monkey girl!

I took Conner and Sidney to the zoo this morning. It was as this picture appears, we were practically the only ones there at 9:00!! Perfect timing!

Conner loved taking care of his sister. She adores her big brother!

1st day of Kindergarten

Well, it is official, I have a Kindergartener!!! Can you believe it? I can't! Linlee had her 1st day yesterday with just the girls. Today was the 1st official day with everyone. They kicked off the morning with a Boo Hoo Breakfast for the parents and children. Very cute. We then took pictures, read a story and said our goodbyes. I was just fine and did not shed a tear until the ride home while reading a poem from the teacher. Thanks Mrs. Barclay...
Linlee loves school and is so excited!!!

The whole class! (all 9 of them!)

Children Updates

LINLEE
Linlee took an Iron Chef Jr class at church and just finished last week. They had lots of fun and made very yummy treats. Here she is in all her gear.

Life is starting to get a lot busier these days with school starting to gear up. Linlee has her first day on the 20th this week. She is soooo excited!! We had meet the teacher yesterday. She will have Mrs Barclay this year. She seems very nice and organized. We can't wait! We also have decided to start letting Linlee earn commission for chores (aka allowance) this week. We spent yesterday making out her chore chart and she will earn 5 cents per chore per day. I bought her this piggy bank that is divided into 3 categories, bank, store, church. We thought now that she is a new Christian and is old enough to understand, it would be a good time to start teaching her about money. She seems excited. I will of course post pics on the 1st day of school...

CONNER

Oh Conner, he is as much fun/trouble as ever. On Monday I was busy cooking supper and he walked in per usual asking for a snack. I told him no because he had already had one after nap and because I was working on supper. He left and I thought went back into the office with the other 2. A few minutes later, I caught a blur running past the dining room door. I called out Conner's name and he slowly walked in with a big box of Whoppers in his hand!! His cheeks were filled to the max and he looked like a chipmunk. OH BOY!! I made him spit them out and sent him to his room. Later that night, he was caught in a lie and got the usual punishment ( a good dose of Tabasco..) Only, Ben gave him a lot more than I usually do and he drank so much water that he threw up. Tough day for that little boy.

SIDNEY

Little miss Sidney has worked on tooth numbers 3,4,5, and 6 for the last few weeks. I caught sight of number 7 and 8 this morning. 6 teeth in 4 weeks has been relatively tough, but no baby dentures in our future!! hooray!
Earlier this week, we went on our post dinner walk and Ben and I were swining her between us. On one particular swing, her arm popped. She came unglued!! After about 20 minutes of hard crying, I finally got her calmed down and in bed. I did notice that she wasn't moving her arm and thought I would see if she slept ok. I just knew it was broken with our track record... anyway. She slept well and woke up fine. Still not moving her arm though. I decided to take her to see the Dr and he said it was Nursemaid's Elbow (dislocated). He popped it back in and all was well. DRAMA!
She is very much a busy body these days. Between her and Conner, I have lots of "how did that get in here?" and "where did that come from?" moments... My house will never be the same.

We had a great playdate last week with the Kirby and Fish children. We met them at the mall and rode the train, carousel and played in the play area. Crazy with 8 kids 5 and under!!! Enjoyable though!

WEll that's it for now...

Sidney's 18 month stats

At 18 months old, Sid weighs 21 lb 12 oz (25%) and is 31.5 inches tall (50%). She is cutting 2 more top teeth and 1 bottom tooth right now. She fell and scraped her left knee on the way into the dr office so we had crying pretty much from start to finish. However, we now have matching knee scrapes, bandaids on both legs from shots and a hand bobo. She looks rough right now. All comes with age.
